At The Angel Laser Academy we teach the VTCT Level 4 Certificate in Laser and Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Treatments. This qualification will cover laser hair removal and photo rejuvenation of the skin using the Lynton intense pulsed light system and the Alexandrite and ND YAG laser treatments using the medical Cynosure laser and Thunder MT Laser. You will learn how to identify the ideal hair type and skin conditions suitable for laser treatments. In this course you will learn:

·       Advanced hair removal and skin rejuvenation treatments

·       Students will learn on Lynton IPL and Cynosure Elite laser and Thunder MT.

·       6 weeks course. 1 day per week.

• Level 3 Beauty Therapy qualification or being a doctor or a nurse
• VTCT Level 3 Certificate in Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology for Complementary Therapies
• Students must be over 18 years old 
• International students will be required to gain a Visa
• A good level of English is required.

What you will learn

The theory of LASER and IPL and you will practice on the latest most advance laser technology: Cynosure Elite (Nd:YAG 1064nm and Alexandrite 755nm)  and the LYNTON IPL (585nm) which are medical grade devices approved for operation within the NHS. 

Laser Hair Removal:

• Laser Physics. The theory of light amplification by stimulated emission of radiation (LASER) and intense pulsed light (IPL).
• The difference between LASER and IPL light therapy.
• The techniques to deliver safe and effective laser treatments                                                        
• Anatomy and physiology of the skin and hair.
• Preparation before a treatment
• How to perform hair removal treatments using IPL and LASER, selecting the correct settings for the hair type on different skin types.

Skin rejuvenation:

• You will learn treatments that improve the appearance of ageing skin caused by sun damage such as brown spots (pigmentation), redness (thread veins), uneven skin texture and lines and wrinkles.
• Pigment Removal: Sun spots and freckles caused by sun damage can be successfully removed. Hormonal pigmentation not suitable for this treatment.
• Red Vein Removal: You will learn how to treat facial redness, rosacea, telangiectasia, Spider Naevi and Campbell De Morgan spots (blood spots).
• Acne: You will learn how to perform laser treatments to reduce the inflammation caused by acne and to help the healing process.

Client care:

• Preparation of the client, full consultation, tissue analysis & Fitzpatrick scale, contraindications, aftercare advice, clinical outcome, how to handle clinical side effects, how to record and evaluate the treatment, How to follow up a treatment, how to handle complaints etc.

Health and safety

• How to provide safe treatments and to learn to identify possible hazards while working in a clinic environment.

How will you be assessed:

The Assessment for this course will consist of:

• Theory Test 
• Assignments
• Practical treatments 
• Observations and oral questioning
• Portfolio evidence to demonstrate your understanding. 

On completion of this course, learners will receive the following qualification:

VTCT Level 4 Certificate in Laser and Intense Pulsed Light Treatments

What is VTCT?

VTCT is officially recognised by Ofqual – Recognition Number: RN5198. Ofqual are the UK Office reporting directly to the UK Parliament for qualifications and regulation.

How long is the course:

• 6 weeks 10am – 5pm (1 day per week)

You will also be required to do home-based learning to complete your homework 

What can I do with this qualification

You can seek employment as a laser technician, or you can progress to a further Level 4 and 5 Beauty related course.

The VTCT Level 4 Certificate in Laser and Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Treatments is a highly sought after qualification that will enable you to work in many areas within the laser and light beauty sector. You can seek employment in commercial environments such beauty salons, spas, health clubs or retail. You may even decide to progress within the lucrative aesthetics sector or use your internationally accredited qualification to work around the globe.

VTCT Level 3 Certificate in Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology for Complementary Therapies

Description

The VTCT Level 3 Certificate in Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology for Complementary Therapies is a knowledge-based qualification which will provide you with a sound foundation to pursue a career as a complementary therapist Or laser practitioner is you take the Level 4 Laser course. This qualification will develop your knowledge and understanding of the organisation of the body, and the structure, function and pathologies of the skin, hair and nails. You will also learn about the structure, function and pathologies of the human body systems including, the skeletal, muscular, nervous, endocrine, respiratory, cardiovascular, digestive, urinary and reproductive system.

This is a fast track course that can be completed at your own pace, around your personal commitments

• No prior qualifications required
• Good standard of English 
• Students must be over 18 years old to enrol on this coursetheory test.

What can I do with this qualification
